IMPACT OF HYPNOSIS ON STRESS AND ANXIETY

Nowadays, stress has become a common part of everyday life. So much so, that stress and anxiety disorders are common in more than 40 million Americans each year.

We all live in a world that is getting scarier day by day and to live in such a world takes a lot of brainpower and patience.

Stress and anxiety can be caused by several reasons. The most common ones include family matters, stress at the workplace or studies, and so on. We are so engulfed in stress and anxiety that many people don’t even realise they are suffering from it.

If you are someone who is dealing with stress or anxiety then it’s important to understand that you are not alone in this. In fact, there are many easy ways you can deal with stress and anxiety and find solutions to reduce it as well.

One such way is hypnosis or hypnotherapy.

WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is a nontraditional treatment for various medical ailments. It is an effective method to reduce different disorders and phobias.

Hypnotherapy is a treatment that uses important things such as intense concentration and engagement. It requires you to completely focus and pay attention to the matter at hand and empty your mind. During hypnotherapy, a person’s attention is focused on a particular thing and this concentration is so immense that the said person is engulfed in a trance. This daze enables a person to lose all focus of what is going on around him and fall into a make-belief sleep. Hypnotherapy is not a treatment in itself but an aid to certain forms of psychotherapy.

HOW DOES HYPNOSIS WORK?

Hypnotherapy is best performed by a professional hypnotherapist. The first step to hypnosis is to get the patient in a relaxed state. A state in which the patient is completely calm and is free from worries and even their own thoughts. This is followed by the hypnotherapist using words or sentences to trigger the affected part of the problem that needs treatment. Sentences such as “you are no longer stressed” are used to signify and perform hypnosis.

Once this process is done, the hypnotherapist slowly and gradually brings back the person from their hypnotic state.

Before the hypnotic session ends, the hypnotherapist and the patient must discuss what they experienced and how their session can be better improved for quick recovery.
